Elementary Art Education
My approach to elementary art education is all about choice and exploration. The main goal is for students to expand their knowledge of materials and processes on their own terms- allowing them to face all problems with creative problem-solving.
Below are phenomenal student examples and lessons I have created and lead:
-
Paper Sculptures
Exploring contemporary sculpture and experimental mediums.
-
Gelli Plate Printmaking
Exploring the art of the multiple and abstracting images.
-
Mural Arts
Appreciating community arts.
-
National Park Embroidery
Exploring fiber arts and landscape drawing.
-
Fossil Project
Appreciation for science and history via craft arts.
-
Collage
Multimedia collage that crosses disciplines.
-
31 Week Curriculum-Women in Art
Each lesson focuses on a particular woman (or more particularly non-men) and their contributions, along with a project relating to the kind of art they produce.
